The work of Elton John is catnip to most piano players. His work runs the gamut from tin-pan alley to pop-rock, and includes stops in boogie-woogie and country. 

 

You can tell just from listening that Kenzal is a fan of Sir Elton's. His admiration courses through everything - from his dreamy rendition of Your Song, through his slowed-down, jaunty take on Crocodile Rock.

 

But make no mistake, Kenzal's tribute is more than an album of straight-up covers. He leans into John's classicism, and creates an album rich in emotion, reflection and theatricality.
